About FLX Tennis
FLX Tennis started in the summer of 2021. Tennis programs for kids and adults are offered throughout the year. FLX Tennis programs give participants the opportunity to develop their competitive and technical tennis skills. An emphasis is placed on developing a child's communication, teamwork, and leadership skills. At the heart of every program offered is a fun sport for kids, adults, and families to play together in a level-based, inclusive environment.
All of our tennis programs are located at Hobart & William Smith Colleges in Geneva, NY. Programs are taught by HWS tennis coaches, players, and volunteers from the community.
Our FLX Tennis logo represents the pathway of development a child experiences on their tennis journey. The pathway starts with Red and moves along to Yellow:
The RED ball for ages 4-6,
The ORANGE ball for ages 7-8,
The GREEN ball for ages 9-10,
The YELLOW ball for ages 11 and up.
Throughout the course of our age appropriate developmental program, children are given the opportunity to LEARN from and SERVE each other developing the leadership, communication, and teamwork skills that stay with each child throughout their life. Tennis is a wonderful teacher. Those who have committed to the game have:
Learned to problem solve through an understanding of tactics and strategy;
Boosted emotional intelligence through their ability to learn from setbacks, frustration, and pressure;
Created strong relationships with friends, teammates, and family by playing a game that can be played at any age.
FLX Tennis seeks to provide affordable tennis programs to kids, adults, and families. We want to ensure that kids are learning to play using age appropriate tennis balls and rackets so that they can experience more success and less frustration from an early age.
